When we are hungry, we eat. This is natural. How much to eat , is the real question.
It is a scientific fact that the more we fill our tummies , the longer it takes to digest, longer it takes to convert to energy and hence, lethargy sets in. We do not feel like working and thus, do not burn calories. Calories accumulate, converts to fat and we gain weight………….
THE MANTRA :
HAVE SMALL FREQUENT MEALS. Space meals 2-3 hourly. Eat only that much amount which gives you comfort, not complete satiety.
Have a portion of carbohydrates, proteins , fats and fibre in every small meal if possible, to make it a complete meal.
Drink 8-10 glasses of plain water, along with other fluids daily.
Remember weight gain is the imbalance of food intake and level of activity. If you are gaining weight, you are eating more than required for your level of activity. So if you want to set it right again, either reduce the intake or increase activity (that could include excercise program !).
